Psychodynamic Therapy to Create Meaningful Change

Psychodynamic Therapy
Deep and lasting change requires deep work.
Despite our best efforts, many of us find ourselves caught in the same patterns, repeating the same struggles. It can feel as if we’re of two minds — and in a very real sense, we are. Psychodynamic therapy works with the unconscious, helping us uncover emotional patterns so deeply learned they operate beneath our awareness.
These patterns often have roots in early relationships and past experiences — but that doesn’t mean therapy is only about the past. What was laid down then is lived out now. In our work together, we’ll explore how old wounds and protective strategies continue to shape your present, and we’ll build new ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world. This is a path not of denial, but of honest reckoning — one that opens the door to genuine, meaningful change.
EMDR and Trauma Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly effective, evidenced-based therapy for healing from trauma, painful memories, and overwhelming experiences.
During EMDR, I guide you through recalling troubling memories while engaging in gentle bilateral stimulation (such as tapping your hands on your shoulders). This process activates your brain’s natural healing ability, allowing the memory to move from a raw, “triggering” state into one that feels more resolved.
Loneliness, depression, stress, anger, and anxiety. Many men quietly carry these burdens, questioning their purpose or wondering what it would take to feel more alive and connected. Therapy provides a place to talk openly about these struggles without judgment. In our work, we’ll explore not only how to reduce suffering but also how to rediscover meaning and build relationships that feel authentic and solid.

About me
I grew up in a rural South Georgia town near where my parents were raised. From an early age, I felt like I didn’t quite fit in but lacked the language and support to articulate what that meant or where it might lead me. My teens and twenties were spent working through my own mental health, traveling, exploring nature, and immersing myself in art, music, and Eastern philosophy. My path wasn’t traditional and I often felt lost. But, looking back, I see this winding road as a way of seeking answers to questions I couldn’t yet name. I learned that my struggles were a complex web of generational patterns and my personal history. They were existential as well as cultural. That journey of self-discovery and healing ultimately led me to become a therapist, where I strive to help others navigate their own unique paths toward a life they find meaningful and fulfilling.
