About Me

My name is Jeremy Hallock, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor working with teens and adults.

I help people better understand themselves, navigate difficult emotions and relationships, and make meaningful changes in their lives. My style is thoughtful, collaborative, and depth-oriented. I incorporate practical tools when they’re useful, tailored to the individual’s needs and goals.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

I try to create a space where you can speak openly without feeling pushed into a predetermined explanation of who you are or what you should do.

I listen closely to the language you use, the emotions that are present, the things that are difficult to say, and the patterns that begin to repeat. Part of the work is helping you put words to experiences that may feel confusing, overwhelming, contradictory, or difficult to understand.

I do not see therapy as a process of imposing my values onto your life. My role is to help you understand your own experience more clearly, recognize the patterns that may be shaping your choices, and develop greater freedom to act in ways that are more aligned with what matters to you.

That may involve learning to regulate overwhelming emotions, navigating difficult relationships, building confidence, processing trauma, or understanding why the same struggles keep returning.

Why I’m Drawn to This Work

I grew up in an environment without much culture around mental health. Therapy helped me make sense of my experiences and find ways to reduce my suffering and live a life more in line with my values. These growing pains engendered in me an interest in the ways people make sense of themselves and the forces that shape how we think, feel, relate, and make decisions. It also sparked a drive to help others heal and find their own way.

Often, the patterns creating difficulty in the present developed for understandable reasons in the past. They may have helped you adapt, protect yourself, maintain relationships, or cope with experiences that once felt overwhelming. Over time, those same patterns can become restrictive.

What interests me about therapy is the possibility of making those patterns more visible. This insight allows for greater freedom to act based on your desires and values, versus reacting, unconsciously recreating more of the same.

Greater self-understanding does not mean analyzing yourself endlessly. It creates more room to choose: how you respond to emotions, how you relate to other people, what you tolerate, what you pursue, and the kind of person you want to become.

Who I Work With

I work with teens and adults dealing with a range of emotional and relational concerns.

People often come to therapy because of anxiety, depression, anger, emotional numbness, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-criticism, low confidence, or major changes in their lives.

Others come in with a less defined sense of being stuck, disconnected, or caught in patterns they understand intellectually but have struggled to change.

Whatever brings you in, we can start with what is happening now and work toward a deeper understanding of what is contributing to it.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is integrative. I am primarily informed by Psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and humanistic therapy.

I also draw from EMDR, trauma-focused therapy, DBT skills, and mindfulness depending on what is most useful.

Sometimes the work is exploratory and focused on understanding deeper patterns. At other times, it is more practical and centered on emotional regulation, communication, coping skills, or working through a specific problem.

I do not expect every person to fit neatly into a single therapeutic model. The approach should serve the person, not the other way around.

Education & Training

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia.

My education includes a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia.

My clinical work has also included training in EMDR and ongoing study in trauma, psychodynamic therapy, emotional regulation, and other approaches that support deeper and more flexible therapeutic work.

Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of therapy, I’m interested in reading, writing, music, art, meditation and spirituality, hiking, and spending time in nature.

Those interests shape the way I think about people, but therapy remains centered on your experience, your values, and what matters to you.
