Young Adult Therapy
Support for young adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, relationships, career stress, social pressure, and the uncertainty of building a life that feels like your own.
Finding your footing in adulthood
Young adulthood can be exciting, but it can also feel unstable. You may be trying to make decisions about work, relationships, school, money, family, friendships, and your future while still figuring out who you are.
This stage of life often brings pressure to “have it together” before you actually feel ready. Therapy can give you space to slow down, sort through what you want, and understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
What we may work on
Young adult therapy can help with:
Anxiety and overthinking
Depression, low motivation, or feeling stuck
Career uncertainty or work stress
College, graduate school, or post-college transitions
Relationship and dating patterns
Loneliness and social disconnection
Family boundaries and independence
Identity, purpose, and direction
Perfectionism and fear of failure
ADHD, procrastination, and difficulty following through
Trauma or painful past experiences
Difficulty making decisions or trusting yourself
My approach to working with young adults
I take a depth-oriented approach to therapy.
That means I am interested not only in reducing symptoms, but in understanding what those symptoms may be expressing.
Depending on your needs, I may draw from psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, mindfulness-informed work, CBT-informed strategies, and practical emotion-regulation skills found in DBT. The work is collaborative, reflective, and focused on helping you better understand yourself and make meaningful changes.
Young adulthood often means living between worlds.
You may no longer feel like a teenager, but you may not yet feel fully grounded as an adult. Work, school, money, relationships, family expectations, and social pressure can all start to feel heavier at the same time. Therapy can help you slow down and understand how you respond to uncertainty, responsibility, conflict, loneliness, and pressure. Together, we can explore what kind of life you are trying to build, what you actually value, and what patterns may be keeping you stuck in relationships, career decisions, or your sense of identity.
